This month my focus for Technique Tuesday will be on gift tags. I will only have 2 Technique Tuesday's this month as the holidays are closing in and I will be spending the time with family enjoying the festivities. There is no particular product focus, but starting today Stampin' Up! is offering Free Shipping until December 23rd! on all orders over $100! That is a nice 10% savings in itself! As well the Fall Winter retirement list has been released, and for the first time ever that I know of, Stampin' Up! is offering 10% off any retiring stamp set purchases! You can view the stamp sets here for those who may not have a catalogue handy.
If you wish to place an order, let me know by email....see my link below my picture, or my local customers can just call me. (Canadian orders only please) Orders cannot be guaranteed for delivery before Christmas, however, orders sent this week should make it in time.
I thought gift tags would be a fun way to wrap up the year, so I decided to combine a gift tag with a gift card holder. There are a few "hard to buy for" people on my list who I buy gift cards for, and the problem with giving them a gift card, is that, well it seems like it's not enough. Unwrapping presents around our house Christmas morning is an event, that we don't want to cut short with gift cards! So I try to buy/bake or make a "little something" for them to open, and attach the gift card with in. But this year I thought, why not make it part of the tag?
So here's what I came up with, which is a variation/collection/regurgitation of ideas that have floated around forever. That is to say, there is no real original thought with this one!
2 1/2" x 8 1/2" length of card stock
2 1/8" x 3 3/4" cardstock for front
2 1/4" x 3 7/8" cardstock for layering
Tag corner punch (not pictured)
Stamps & ink to decorate
Score your long piece of cardstock at 4"
Measure in 3/8" from each end and mark with a pencil
Do this for both ends
Erase your line.
Stamp and decorate the front panels and adhere to shorter side of the tag, ensuring your adhesive does not interfere with the slit slot.
Punch the corners with the tag corner punch for more of a "tag" appearance.
I don't think I will have all matching tags, but maybe for those wrapped in this set of papers.
I will be slowing down my posting after this week as we get in to gear for Christmas parties (kids only LOL!) baking, Christmas concerts and just some plain old family time. DH, who has been away at work on a 21 day shift is home next Monday, but will head back to work before Christmas. So next week will be all about family for us, and our little Christmas celebration. Then the girls and I will head off to spend some time with my family in Calgary.
I know you won't miss me, but I feel compelled to share my upcoming absence since you are so sweet to drop by and visit with me each day. If I have time I will post, and if I have anything I can pre post, well I'll do that too. I just don't want to commit....I'm over committed big time now, so I am staying as far from that as I can.
Drop by tomorrow for previews of Flourishes' December release. Oh boy...I am just in love with this release. You'll know why tomorrow!
Have a fabulous Tuesday and thanks for dropping by! You know I love it when you do!
