I just had to share a few non stamping "camping" pictures with you from our last camping trip. I thought you might also like to meet the newest member of our family! Yes, we have a new puppy! Meet Brownie. We actually got her on our May camping trip. She's seven months old, and pretty much full grown, except for her puppy eyes...do they ever grow up? She is a tiny "lap dog", 3/4 Jack Russell Terrier and 1/4 dachshund; smaller than most cats I've had! She is very sweet and cuddly, but never having owned a dog before, I am struggling with the house training.
We purchased her because she was not a baby and was supposedly already house broken. However, a new home, new owners and a new routine have obviously thrown that out the window. She was born and raised on a farm, so perhaps didn't spend the amount of time indoors as she does now, so we are really trying to work this little issue out....before it becomes a big issue! An no she doesn't have fleas, but dh thought it a good precaution.
I also wanted to share with you some pictures of my oldest dd's big catch! (all the following pictures can be enlarged by clicking on them) She will have a fish story to tell forever, in fact dh says he was a lot older than her before he had one this big to tell! Take a
look at this baby! A 10 lb rainbow trout! 26 inches long and beautiful! The story goes that she and dh were fishing and Amy had a bite at the same time dh did. She began reeling it in, and then asked for help, since it was much harder than her earlier catches. DH said "No, it's your fish, and I have one on too!" Well, his was a teeny little fish that he released, and when the dinghy started spinning as she tried to reel in her fish, he realized she had a fairly big one on the line. He gave her instructions, and eased the line so it wouldn't snap, and when she finally landed it, neither could believe the size!
You would have thought dh had just become a proud new papa he was so excited! Well, it was a pretty big draw...we even had other campers coming around to take pictures of it.
Dh filleted it into three meal portions, two for us, and one big one for company. We cooked up one portion last night and it was wonderful...too much for one meal actually!
So that was our excitement for the weekend. I didn't get much reading in, but the weather was fine and the entertainment outstanding!
Now for some RAKs I have received over that last week or so.
I received this wonderful set from Carolina for Mother's Day! I was thrilled that she thought of me on Mother's Day. She also included one of her tissue holders She has a tutorial on her blog on how to make them along with lots of other eye candy, so drop in and take a peek! Thank you so much Carolina...what a wonderful surprise!
Julee included this gorgeous birthday card with the July Verve releases (you are all going to love these..wish I could share them now)! But isn't this just beautiful?? The entire card just shimmers, and the colours are stunning. Hard to say which I was more excited over...the new stamps or the beautiful card! Funny, I saw her post with this card, so I knew it was coming! Mail is slow in Canada, but it arrived quite timely...relative to my birthday anyway! Thanks Julee...it's just beautiful!
Speaking of Verve, hop on over to there! Julee has a sale on!
Here at Verve we love words. And one of our favorite words is…SALE!
So, we’ve cooked up a little sale just because we wanted to. Now through June 23, select Verve sentiment sets are 10% off.
We’re also making some big plans behind the scenes here at Verve and as part of that we’ve decided to discontinue all of our non-stamp merchandise so we can focus on stamps, stamps and more stamps! So hurry and pick up what you can while you can, because it’s going, going… almost GONE!
While supplies last, all non-stamp merchandise is 35% off!
I received this stunner from Denise! Her colouring skills amaze me! This is just so beautiful, it's hard to show it off in a photo so I am thrilled to have the real thing in my hot little hands! Check out Denise's blog for even more inspiration. She is amazing and creative, I just love her style! Thank you Denise...timing was perfect on this one!
And last, but certainly not least, here is the card Silke sent me! This is just pure Silke perfection! I love it...bright colours and bling! Silke has come on board the Little Paper Shop design team with me, so I am thrilled to be working with her! Be sure to stop by her blog an you'll know why she was asked to join us!
