I just love making Christmas cards. Sometimes it's to use up the incredible amount of Christmas supplies that I buy, but mostly I just love the look and feel of them. I had sometime on my hands...time that I probably could have used more wisely, but I chose to make a card. It was a quick one. I saw the Clean & Simple Challenge #95 on SCS and the Fall to Layout from the Clean & Simple blog and decided I could combine them easily and this is what I came up with.
CAS95 was to use Flower Accents. OK, so this may be more of a focal point than an accent, but it works for me. Fall to Layout #118 was pretty simple. I thought the flower could work as the circle and the leaves for the other element.
I decided that Clean & Simple doesn't have to be white, and intentionally looked for something that would work with another colour. I pulled out this strip of designer paper by Echo Park and started there. The card base is Wild Wasabi and the border is Real Red. Believe it or not, that border had already been punched! I guess I decided against in on another card and there it was, ready to go! I layered the poinsetta's (by Bazzill) and added a little yellow rose (Recollections) and some leaves. The sentiment is from Joy and Wonder, a Unity set I picked up on sale last year. Lastly, I added some piercing in the corner for a little added detail and that was it! Here's a close up of the flower.
OK...I'm posting this late, so now I'm off to bed. Make it a wonderful day!
