I love butterflies, and I love collage images, so I couldn't wait to get this gorgeous stamp by Unity nice and inky. The paper was originally white and I was experimenting with stencils, ink and sprays that didn't quite turn out the way I hoped but I really like this card in the end. I cut the paper using a spellbinder die, which allowed me to get the best part if it. The butterfly collage was stamped in Versafine onyx black direct on the paper, then again, focusing on just the large butterfly on the scrap portion. I cut it out and popped it up over its mate to add a little dimension. I added the sentiment on the upper right...and sentiment isn't it just an awesome statement!!
I sprayed it again with a good spray with glimmer mist and added some prima flowers, twine and pearls. I chose a kraft background stamped with a Tim Holtz text stamp and a centre column of patterned paper framed with a lattice border punch. Lots of fun!
I was working on a sketch challenge card tonight and I just haven't decided if I like it enough to share. Sometimes they grow on you once you lose that extreme focus of the moment...so maybe you'll see some snowflakes tomorrow.
Thanks for popping in! I'm looking forward to seeing how you'll inspire me tomorrow. Right now, I'm off to bed. Happy stamping!
