Are you ready for the scariest night of the year? I can't say I'm a big Halloween person...I don't really dress up or go out, but I love making Halloween cards. Maybe because it allows me to explore my darker side. Whatever the reason, Halloween cards are fun and I have one to share with you today!
My card features Hero Art's "So Scary" stamp set...believe it or not, it's the only Halloween stamp set I picked up this year! I have so many, that I said to myself I have to get 5 cards made with this set before I can buy another. So guess what, this is card number 3 and since we're only a week a way from the big day, I really doubt I will get two more done. That was perhaps the most amazing bit of self control I've experienced! So I guess I won't get another Halloween set with so little time to use it. I'm just hoping I'll have that much reserve for Christmas!!
Products used:
The tree was stamped on ivory paper with Black Soot distress ink and added the bats as well. Starting with Antique Linen distress ink, I sponged heavily along the edges and moved in to eventually cover the entire piece. Then I started inking the edges with Rusty Hinge, and moved deeper into the paper, leaving a circle like opening void of the Rusty Hinge ink. I finished with Black Soot, inking heavily along the edges and bringing it in only a little ways, but keeping the line of the open circle in mind as I sponged.

When I finished I sprayed it with Nougat Glimmer Mist, which gives it a fabulous eerie shimmer. The designer paper was also edged with Rusty Hinge followed with Black Soot. I tied some tulle around the lower part of the card and tied it in a bow, and secured a Vintage Silver brad over the centre. The tickets were stamped on the Apothecary paper in Black Soot and sponged heavily with Antique Linen to age them. when it was all said and done, I decided it needed more shimmer, so I spritzed the entire card with Nougat glimmer mist again. I love how this one turned out!
Well, that's it for me! Take care and have a fabulous day!
