WOW! Another week is gone and here we are with our Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I really can't believe that summer is almost over...although I'm sad, I can't wait until the kids are back in school. I just need a little peace and quiet. A little bit of structure wouldn't hurt either! Anyway, getting back to the task at hand, let's take a look at this week's sketch!
I think this is a pretty traditional sketch, and once I finally decided on my colours it came together really easy! I love circles...they are my favorite element to work with, and I think that really helped.
I also decided that I need to show off some of the stamps on my for sale list, so I pulled out Best Blossoms. It's such a pretty set, and if I had another 24 hours in every day, I'd keep it. But I don't and I barely get a chance to stamp with all the new stamps I have, so if someone wants to give this baby a good home...email me! I actually have 2 of this set. One mounted and one new unmounted.
Stamps: Best Blossoms (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: Melon Mambo (SU), Parakeet (Bazzill), Green at Heart DP (Basic Grey)
Ink: Melon Mambo, Kiwi Kiss & Regal Rose (SU), Memento's Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Lattice border punch (MS), Circle Spellbinders, pop dots, ribbon (Bazzill)
I love all things Basic Grey, but they really hit the jackpot with Green at Heart. I love all the pink, green and oranges; they are my favorite colours! And it was quite a treat to stamp in colour, rather than have to colour in my stamps. I stamped the flowers over the leaf, then stamped them again and popped them up. I love the sentiment that comes with this set, although I've often thought it would be quite funny with the right "inside" greeting...think about it LOL!
Now I am going to turn things over to my fellow Sweet Sunday Stampers, and they will show you so many delightful ways to use this sketch, I know you'll be inspired. When you've created your project, be sure to link it up to Karen's post here, and you might be featured on her blog next week!

I am taking next week off, as we run off to Beautiful British Columbia for our final week of summer. I'll miss you, but I'm sure you'll be fine. I have stocked up on books for my trip. I love to read, but really only allow myself to read when I'm camping. You see, once I start a book, the rest of my life is put on hold. I cannot bring myself to put a book down.
Chapters had classics on for 3 for $10 so I picked up a few that I didn't have to read in high school LOL! Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights and Pride and Predjudice. Then just for fun, I asked the lady at Chapters to recommend a science fantasy series, and so I picked up George R. R. Martin's "A Game of Thrones". It's a 4 book series and they look like they could occupy the entire week, since each book is about 1000 pgs. Is anyone else a fantasy reader with recommendations? I loved Robert Jordan, Terry Goodkind and David Farland, and I love series. Tell me what you'd be reading this week!! It'll be interesting to find out what you have to say when I'm back.
Have a wonderful last week of summer!!
