Have you seen the new Quilling kits by Cuttlebug? Oh my! For a girl who loves flowers, these are the coolest toy! I played with them quite a bit yesterday, and the end result was about 20 flowers and 1 card LOL! I do plan to get some of the other flowers onto cards, but I'll at least share the one I finished today. It will also be the Toonie Thursday Make and Take project at Scrapbooker's Paradise, so if you're in the Red Deer area, come and play with me on Thursday!
OK...isn't that just totally cute? Those little flowers are so easy to make with the quilling sets. I mean the card is so simple that they really steal the show. I used the Chrysanthemum kit which includes the dies to make the actual flower, flower centres and leaves along with strips for quillling and the quilling tool. I've used the quilled strips, the flower centres and actual flower for this card. The designer paper is Kaiser's "Hey Birdie" line...love these colours! The "grass" is simply the small "flower centre" strip straight instead of quilled, and the stem is a Hero Art's stamp that I picked up on sale! I used Flourishes "Tag Lines" for the sentiment and after everything was together I rounded the corner with my Corner Chomper...love that thing! I can round my corners even when it's an afterthought! And while you can't really see it, I actually punched a 1/2" circle in the Prism Simply smooth ivory cardstock and the flowers sit inside them. They are quite dimensional on their own and I wanted to pop up the focal layer. By punching a hole for the flowers, it allows them to be dimensional without over powering the card!
Well, I have a bit of time on my hands so I think I'll try out some of the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges! If you are a SCS Fan Club member you can see them here! This is the first year I chose not to host...summer is busy, and I wasn't sure I'd have the time to commit, but I'm thrilled to find the time to play! I hope a challenge will keep my Mojo going!
Have a fabulous day and thanks for sparing a minute to visit with me! I truly appreciate every visit!
