Happy Flourishes Friday! You ask what's cooking? We are! It's been scorching hot this week, and being in a region where these temps are not the norm we are without the luxury of air conditioning and my house right now is hotter inside than it is out.
Now those who know me, know that cooking is not my think on a good day. And when the weather is this hot, I lose the ability to even locate a stove or oven. Hmm, I do think the house came with all major appliances though! So I am in uncharted territories with this challenge with and with no thoughts of cooking in the near future, I turn to my favorite type of recipe...the no bake kind! And this one is pure sweet, yummy goodness and totally fun for the kids to make with you!
The recipe comes from my secret arsenal; KraftCanada.com. I love this site, because unlike most places where I find a recipe that looks appetizing and easy, you can bet I wont have the ingredients on hand. At KraftCanada.ca, it works the opposite way. You tell it what ingredients you DO have, and it finds a recipe for you! Fabulous find, and great results.
My little recipe card was made incredibly easy. I formatted it for 3 1/2 x 5" and printed the recipe on Flourishes Classic White. I stamped the small cherry image from Peaches and Cherries, and coloured it with Copic Markers. It was punched out and layered on Real Red cardstock. Just for fun, I added some shine to the cherries with a Glaze pen...a nice little addition that adds no bulk or drying time! There is a punched border along the top, and a slip of gingham designer paper along the bottom. The index is a circle punch with the small cherries stamped in red. This is my first ever recipe card, but I think it's so cute, that I will have to find another recipe just and "spice up" my repetoire of 5 (boring) standards that I usually serve at dinner.
