Oh my...it's been forever since I had a chance to do a sketch set. And this weekend while I was supposed to be going through my Mom's stamping stuff, I spent more time using it than packing it up. I'm a little torn. I so enjoy coming to visit and not having to pack so much stuff to stamp. Part of me would like to leave it as it is, but she had a lot of stuff. A lot. So, I think I will take the bulk of it, so my Dad can reclaim the dining room, but I'll leave a little stash...just in case.
Last week Karen posted this adorable card using Kaiser's Peachy Keen stamps and papers. Well, they arrived in the store I work at (Scrapbooker's Paradise), and OMG...they were so cute! I just had to have them. Now my rule is that anything I buy has to be used within the week, so I stuffed the paper pack and stamp set in my bag on my way to Dad's, and when I got here, I started stamping and didn't stop until I had my set finished! It was so fun. Here they are!
This week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge comes to us from our very own Vicki Burdick! I generally don't care for crooked panels, but I found this sketch really easy to work with. In addition to the stamps, I also used the coordinating rub ons for the sentiment and border. I found the colours worked wonderfully with SU's Dusty Durango and Baja Breeze!
You'll love seeing how the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers worked Vicki's sketch, so have a quick peek at their blogs for some inspiration. Then you can give it a shot yourself! Don't forget to link it up to Karen's post here, and you might be featured on her blog!
The next card in my set uses SCS273. It was a pretty simple sketch to work with, and since I wasn't at home with all my toys, I kept this fairly simple. The fun part about this paper pack is that it has three pages of die cuts and border strips and they really make it easy to work with!
Here's one I did using the Crazy4Sketches C4C30. It was a clean and simple sketch and I tried to keep it that way! Oh, and you'll also notice how fabulously this coordinates with SU's Groovy Guava! This paper from the pack is flocked, (some are embossed too!) and I didn't want to cover it all up, so this sketch was perfect for it!
And finally, here is my take on Taylored Expressions TESC106. For this card, I used one of the border pages and cut the row of flowers into 1" squares for the bottom portion. The upper portion features layered flowers and a sky sponged with Baja Breeze, and a few gems to finish off the flowers. The sentiment is from an old SU set.
There you go! I haven't got much energy left for chatter. I really should be in bed as I post this. So I'll say goodnight and hope to catch up with you tomorrow!
