I've got another card using Tim Holtz Distress Inks! I love the way it turned out, and honestly, it's a 10 minute card. 10 minutes to reproduce...I played with the Distress Inks a lot, and while my creative process is much longer than 10 minutes, it's really very simple!
I used exactly the same sets as I did on my card yesterday. Botanicals by Hot of the Press and Happy Birthday sayings by Cloud 9 Design. I used the same Wrinkle Free Distress technique, and the same colours, Broken China and Shabby Shutters, only this time the colours were more vibrant.
I made a long card, measuring 6" x 3 1/2", and added a top and bottom border with Fiskar's Apron Lace Punch. The sentiment and floral silhouette were stamped in Black Soot and embossed in clear.
I thought I would also mention, that Tim Holtz Distress Inks are not Alcohol Inks. They are very different. Distress Inks are a water based Dye ink. They are "wetter"...and by wetter, I mean water wet, as opposed to tacky wet that pigment inks are. This wetness allows you to achieve different results...such as embossing with a dye ink. It also makes sponging a breeze, as they don't dry immediately on contact, so as you sponge to distress, you get a nice soft even edge. I'll have another card for you tomorrow that shows this better. Their wetness also allows them to soak into any wrinkles more so than regular dye inks, and this can be further accentutated by spritzing water on your creation to "promote" the effect. And yes, you can stamp with them, just like a regular dye based ink!
I love this card...it's so simple and elegant, and the vibrancy of the background is beautiful! This along with all the cards I made with Distress Inks will be on display at Scrapbooker's Paradise, Red Deer, so you are welcome to drop by and see them in person!
OK, I'm off to get some errands done. Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!
