As a sketch connoisseur, I often use a sketch as a starting point. And usually when I work with a sketch, I stay pretty true to it. This time, it didn't work. I had started with Julee's Release Party Sketch, but just never made it there!
As you can see, I didn't get the two little boxes in. Now, that is not for lack of trying! I tried the smaller butterfly with the set, pearls, squares of DP, but nothing seemed to work. So I allowed myself to deviate, and left it with just the ribbon, and added the sentiment in the upper portion.
The stamp set is Verve's newly released Beautiful Kindness. The paper is from the retired "Spring Silhouettes" paper pack, and I really let loose on the adhesive pearls, but aren't they just perfect? The butterfly was stamped twice, one in Wild Wasabi, and once in Versafine Onyx Black. They were cut out and layered on the Soft Sky circle. I added a white scalloped circle to frame, after trying every other colour, since I don't normally use white as a matte, but I really like it. I added more pearls to the butterfly and then to the sentiment.
I know this looks like a really simple card, so I don't want to even think about how long I floundered trying to find something to fit in the two boxes before I gave myself permission to abandon ship and let it go it's own way! I really like the end result, and I am in love with these butterflies!
Well, we are half way through the week, and only 3 more sleeps until I get to meet up with Dawn and Christine. Oh and I see that I am heading up to 300000 hits! That's something to celebrate, so watch for a celebration post early next week!
Happy Wednesday...make it a great one!
