Well, I'm back from SU! regionals in Edmonton. The seminar was fabulous and meeting Dawn and Christine was the icing on the cake! It was so fun, we saw some amazing projects, swapped for some awesome ideas and talked all day long! I can't say we did much stamping, but we'll be sharing a taste of the regionals with you on Thursday!
I thought I would share my swap card with you. I tried to create something that would be relatively easy to duplicate...or mass produce, but I always seem to have some element that is far too time consuming. On this card it was the brad and ribbon! The colouring was done very quickly with markers, not much to the scalloped border and even the piercing was quick. And as much as I dreaded the ribbon part in constructing them, I didn't like the card without it, so I perservered!
I used my Mom's "Friends 24-7" set again. I will really miss this set when I finally have to turn it over to her. Funny thing though, when I was more active as a demo, I used to "contract" my swaps out to my Mom whenever I went to regionals or convention. At first I would do up a design and she would mass produce it, but she was/is a really creative stamper, so it wasn't long before I'd say create whatever suits your fancy. I do not like mass production and I was so appreciative of Mom's contribution. And as I was putting these together...I was even more-so LOL!
I see both Dawn and Christine already have their pictures up, but I still want to share mine. So here's the three of us.
and here's me and Christine. I got caught talking...now that's a surprise LOL!
These pics are pretty blurry. My poor camera is used to a tripod. It's so old, it doesn't have those nifty features like digital image stabilization or face detection features. It works much better taking pics of my cards than it does taking pics of people, especially inside in poor lighting! Gosh I sound like I'm making excuses for an old dog LOL!
Check out Dawn and Christine's blogs for much better pictures, and funnier stories!
Well, it's been a long day, driving back in horrible winter driving conditions, and then having to shovel 4" of snow off our driveway, laundry and now I am finally down in my studio! I missed you, and I'll be back tomorrow, so I hope to see you then!
