Amber brought us a fabulous Viva la Verve sketch again..with a twist! There had to be flowers. Well you know me, I can never do things the easy way. I mean Verve has tons of gorgeous flower stamps, but no, I wanted to play with my new stuff, and I had my heart set on Hearts on Fire (pun intended!). Plus I ran across a colour combo on the Colour Throwdown blog that I just loved; Kraft, Pink Passion and Black, and it was perfect for Valentines, so I did it my way!
I love to send out Valentines to my friends, since I happen to think Valentines is the perfect time to celebrate those relationships. I didn't want to make a "mushy" card... because really, I will only use one of those (well, maybe two if I send one to Brad Pitt!). I love sets that can be used for not so mushy Valentines, and Hearts on Fire is perfect..(and so is A Hundred Hearts)! I happen to love Pink Passion, and thanks to a order entry error a couple of years ago, I am well stocked in 12x12 Pink Passion LOL! So I relish the opportunities to use it with the class and flair it deserves.
I began by stamping the outline of the fiery heart in Versafine Onyx Black, then inked up the solid filigree heart in Pink Passion and stamped it in the outline heart. You just have to love clear stamps for the ability to position stamps so easily! I used my Labels One Nestability set to cut the image out, and then while the die was still in place, I sponged Pink Passion ink around the edges. What a fabulous effect don't you think? And you will see that I added a flower...a Pink Passion flower too!
The sentiment from Hearts on Fire as well, and it's cut out with the Ribbon Trio die set and sponged with Pink Passion too. The Pink Passion section is embossed with Swiss Dots and I got a little carried away with my Martha Stewart border punch! I had edged the centre panel, then thought it would look nice to edge the Pink Passion panel. And I think I was right. Then I decided to edge the bottom of the card. A bit of a mistake, because it takes better than 1/2 and inch off! So I added a row of Pink Passion and then Kraft sponged with Pink Passion to make up the difference.
I am still quite pleased with the result. I think Pink Passion looks fabulous and classy here!
Happy Saturday folks! I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I'll be inside stamping since it's -24C or 8 below F. Way too cold to do anything else right! Have a fabulous day and thanks for dropping in! You know I love it when you do!
