It's Flourishes Friday! And a special one at that; it's also Taylor's (Taylored Expressions) one year anniversary of her Cupcake Sketches! I was thrilled that she asked her Featured Samplers to help her celebrate by sampling her anniversary sketch. She made one condition, that we use cupcakes! Well, that is no problem; I pulled out Flourishes' newly released "Birthday Celebrations" set and went right to work.
I really had in mind a fun and happy birthday card; one that really says "Celebrate"! I started by stamping the image in Versafine Onxy Black on Whisper White. I cut it into an oval and coloured with ink and an aquapainter then I added coloured Puffy Paint to each of the cupcakes. I also stamped the balloons separately and coloured them in, adding some Crystal Effects for shine. The balloons were cut out and gold cord attached to each one. They are adhered with dimensionals and then a length of gold cord was tied around the strings and threaded up through a button and tied off. The button is held in place with a glue dot.
I chose "Cutie Pie" designer papers and brought in the colours in the balloons and cupcakes, and also with the bottom strips. I finished by adding some Crystal Stickles to the cupcakes and all along the scalloped border.
