Last January, there was a colour challenge (CC150) featuring Soft Sky, Blue Bayou and Real Red. I remember visiting the gallery that day and it was a sea of loveliness. I think it is one of my favorite colour combos, although I confess, I have a lot of favorites...I just love colour! At the time Christmas was past and Valentines was almost upon us, but I couldn't help but think these colours would make a wonderful Christmas card. So now that Christmas is on the horizon, that's what I set out to do!
I love this bird from Little Paper Shop's "Christmas Wishes", and I haven't had a chance to ink it up since the release so I pulled it out again. I chose Soft Sky textured paper for the background and went from there.
This actually started as a case of this week's Featured Stamper, Becca Feeken, who I know from the Flourishes' Blog team, and she is so incredibly talented. Everything she creates is so detailed and elegant. I had picked this card to case, however, as often happens, this card found it's own way.
While Becca's cards are elaborate and detailed, this one is actually one of my more simple designs. A couple rows of piercing a scalloped border and some beautiful prima's with brads and that was it! I think it turned out just right!
I still love this colour combo! The way the Real Red just pops without dimming the gorgeous softness of Soft Sky just makes me happy. I hope you like it too!
