Wanna party? Today's Ways to Use it Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers was to use your computer. I use the computer a lot and I am always printing challenges, sketches, not to mention flyers and lately even school projects for the kids. So as I go to print my teenie little message to meet the challenge, wouldn't you know my printer tells me it's low on ink! Yikes, that stuff is like gold. Oh well, I'll get a new cartridge with my next million, but today it just kind of faded in places.
I started by choosing "Tart and Tangy" which is a fun little set that is now available in the Occasions Mini! I used Jen del Muro's sketch, and everything just fell into place from there. I mean really, how many different colours can you colour a strawberry? Today I chose Rose Red!
The card base is Always Artichoke, layered with Whisper White, and then Rose Red Prints designer paper. I coloured the strawberries with my Stampin' Write markers, Rose Red for the berry and the leafy part is Always Artichoke, and they are stamped on Whisper White. Each strawberry is punched with the 1 1/4" circle punch, then layered on a 1 3/8" circle of Always Artichoke, then attached with dimensionals to a Whisper White scallop circle. Each scallop has a little dot of Rose Red using the fine tip end of the marker.
The Sentiment on the upper left is from the Sale-a-Bration set "Lots of Thoughts". It is stamped on Whisper White in Basic Black. The lower right message is printed on the computer, and is entirely fictional...unless you want to come! It will work well as a sample for both Sale-a-Bration and the Occasions Mini! Both are punched out with the 1 1/4" square punch and layered on Rose Red punched with the 1 3/8" square punch. They are adhered to the large squares with dimensionals. I added some ribbon tabs on the bottom, both from the Ribbon Originals sets that retired last July. I love the width of these particular ribbons...1/8" inch, which works well with the scale of the card which is 4 1/4" x 4 1/4".
I really think this is so cute; I just love that sketch! And I am really thinking a Daiquiri party with stamps would be a good thing! How about you?
Have a great day!
