Edited to add: All the CD folders have been sold.
About a year ago I participated in a bulk buy for these CD Literature Folders prompted by this webisode on Craft TV weekly. I ordered 100 of them. To date I have used 4. What you are about to see is project 3 and 4! However, when you see these projects, you too might want them so badly you order 100 too!
The possibilities for these CD folders is endless. For these, I chose a very simple but classic design using two of my favorite stamp sets "Baroque Motifs" and "Tres "Chic".
The colours are Whisper White, Basic Black and my favorite "in Colour" River Rock. I always think it looks like platinum.
I'm not going to go into detail on the making of them, if you go the site, you can download the instructions. I will share some of the unique elements that I incorporated into mine.
To create the old style book binding I placed a border of Basic Black card stock on the left, (on the right for the back) wrapped with a strand of River Rock double stitched ribbon. I used the Tab Punch to wrap around like buckles and added black brads to complete the look. The book ties with River Rock ribbon as well, which was adhered to the mailer before I added the front cover. In addition, I used the slot punch to create an opening in the "cover", since I have found the having the ribbon extend to the edge of the cover can cause the cover to lift.
These are gifts so I monogrammed them by placing a Frances Meyer gold letter sticker on a square of Basic Black, and then I placed it in a square book plate from the Antique Brass Hodge Podge Hardware kit, and secured it with black brads.
Inside the front cover, I used the same design with Tres Chic stamped in River Rock and little wisps of the flourish stamp from Baroque Motifs in Basic Black. I also added photo corners in corresponding colours. The book part of it is created by an accordion folding in which I attached mini enveloped and tabs of River Rock. I stamped quotes from Sidekick Sayings (retired hostess set) and Sage Advice (retired) on the tabs.
Each envelope has a 3"x3" square on which the recipient can add a photo, or you could insert mementos from a trip, or other quotes.
The back is a angled folder, and I stamped Tres Chic on it directly. The folder can be used for keepsakes, a CD or photos.
I just love these little books, and while they are a bit time consuming, I think they make a beautiful gift which these are.
I hope you enjoyed seeing them. If you are interested in picking up a few of these little folders, email me. I doubt I will ever use the entire 96 I have remaining! If you want a lot here is the link again: Uline
Here is the very first project I made with them, including my very first altered CD.
Quite a different look using Doodle This.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
