Happy Valentine's Day! So did you celebrate? The girls and I enjoyed dinner out at Boston Pizza! It's the one place where I know they will eat what they order, and they always order the same thing; Bugs and Cheese! I had Shrimp and Feta Penne and it was pretty good...and I even have some for lunch tomorrow.
This is the card I made for the girls teachers for Valentines. I wanted it to be fairly simple, but fun.
About a year ago I made a mistake on an order and instead of ordering a package of 12x12 Real Red, I ordered Pink Passion! Returning it was not worth the effort, so I hung onto it. I did use a a few sheets for the "girl" Valentine cards we made up, but that hardly made a dent. So I really felt I had no alternative but to reach for Pink Passion for the teacher Valentines, because it's one of the few occasions that Pink Passion works...and I actually love this!
The card is a tent topper, so the base is 4 1/4"x 4 1/4" Pink Passion, and it's the topper that extends 1 1/4" above it to bring it to the 5 1/2" mark. The Whisper White layer was stamped with the flower heart stamp from "Happy Heart Day" in Basic Black and coloured with Tempting Turquoise and Pink Passion markers. The little heart stamp came from a retired set "Small Sayings", and it was stamped in Pink Passion. The mouse was stamped in Basic Black and coloured in with markers, then I used the Marvy Mega circle punch to punch it. It's layered on Tempting Turquoise punched with the Marvy Giga circle punch, and I scalloped it with my corner rounder. Then I made little white dots in each scallop with my white gel pen.
The tag is stamped in Basic Black, and coloured with markers, then punched with the small tag punch. The bottom layer is the large tag punch in Tempting Turquoise. I used my 1/4" circle punch to make a hole and threaded a strip of Tempting Turquoise grosgrain ribbon through it and used a glue dot to glue them together. The tag is attached with adhesive.
This is one of the few cards I make that would be "mail-able" with only one stamp, and ironically, it's also one of the few that was hand delivered! Go figure!
I was really hoping to have an awesome project ready today, but it's after 10:00 and I'm still not done, so I thought I would share my last Valentine card with you. I hope you'll pop back tomorrow! It's Friday's Fast and Fabulous project, plus another not so fast but fabulous project!
Have a great evening!
