So do you ever sit down to create a card, flip it, rip it, add this, take away that until you finally give it up for a lost cause? That's my story for my colour challenge card. Finally at midnight last night I gave up and went to bed. Then this morning I got up, and thought, you know it's pretty cute!
I think I am just so used to "filling" up my space, that this one didn't seem to work last night. Today I like it! Our colours were Rose Red, Apricot Appeal and Sage Shadow...which I just love! I made my card base Sage Shadow, with a top fold. I had it as a side fold, but standing straight up, the flower petals wanted to fall forward. I loved this sketch #46 from Card Positioning Systems, so to make the curve in the Rose Red Prints DP, I use my x-tra-large Coluzzle circle template, it's first use in a long time. The Apricot Appeal layer is stamped with the new Stitched background (**new toy!) in Versamark, then embossed in clear. A very subtle, and touchable look! The flower is coloured with my Apricot Appeal marker, and added 2 felt flowers from the Flower Fusion kit (**new toy!), then secured it with an orange circle rhinestone brad. I actually moved the flower around, all within a 1/4" space before I finally left it here (adhered with a pop up glue dot)...around my bedtime. The sentiment is a Rub-On (**new toy) , the new Sale-A-Bration Love and Happiness set...4 sheets in this set!! This was my first time ever using Rub ons! I just love how easy they are, and how bright or dark it is! I pierced the outside edge and then used my sage shadow marker to make faux piercing on the circular Sage Shadow layer. I think I was just over tired last night, because this morning I really wondered why I got so worked up. I love it today!
Here is the SCS sketch challenge done in the same colours! Told you I loved them! This time I used Apricot Appeal as my card base, and the lower panel is Rose Red Prints DP. The image panel is Whisper White stamped with Stitched (**new toy again!!) in Apricot Appeal. I chose So Many Scallops (**new toy!!) , another Sale-A-Bration set, and stamped the large flower 2x in Rose Red, and 2x in Apricot appeal. I used my 1" circle punch to punch out the centres and layered them on their opposites. I punched 1/2" circle in each colour of card stock, and added buttons in corresponding colours. The stems are strips of Sage Shadow cut with my table top trimmer, an the ribbon is from District Ribbon Originals. I finished it off with photo corners, and three Rose Red brads. Pretty cute huh?
Don't forget to book your Sale-A-Bration workshop! When you purchase $70.00, you can choose a Sale-A-Bration set for free!! It's not too good to be true, but Sale-A-Bration ends March 17, so reserve your date today!
See you soon! I'm off to play with more of my new toys!
